Nintendo Switch weekly eShop update goes big on indie games

Posted on

Nintendo has detailed another week of releases for the eShop, and it seems that we’ll be winding down November without much in the way of major launches. That isn’t entirely surprising since we’re sandwiched between two big Switch releases – Pokemon Let’s Go, which arrived on November 16, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which is releasing on December 7. As is usually the case, though, there are a few indie games worth checking out if you’re looking for something new to play.

The two Switch titles Nintendo is highlighting with this week’s update are Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery EP and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. The former is a fairly well-known (and much-loved) indie title that first launched on iPad way back in 2011, while the latter is a spiritual successor to the classic Wonder Boy series.

Those of you looking for a relaxing game to play might want to have a look at ABZU, while racing fans have Gear.Club Unlimited 2 – a Switch exclusive – to look forward to. Have a look at the full list of releases hitting the eShop below:

Just Dance 2019 – Demo Version

Interestingly, the Wii U is back on the list this week, which is a fairly rare occurrence now that the Switch has had time to establish itself, but unfortunately, the only addition to the Wii U’s library is a demo of Just Dance 2019. So, it’s a fairly tame week, but things will be heating up soon with the release of Super Smash Bros Ultimate next week. Are you thinking about picking up any of these games? Head down to the comments section and let us know!
