Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe has introduced a new service called Personal Shopper. With this, Amazon has officially started competing with services like Stitch Fix, making it possible for Prime members to get a package of curated clothing for various styles and budgets. The service is exclusive for Prime members located in the United States and gives customers the option of returning the clothes if they don’t like them.
Curated clothing has become a popular service, enabling customers to specify their sizes and style preferences. Stylists pick out outfits based on those preferences, package them up, and ship them to the customers. Depending on the service, outfits may be curated by things like occasion and season.
Amazon’s new Personal Shopper service will be available only for women’s clothing styles initially, according to the company. The service works by requiring customers to first create a profile, then make their custom styling requests. Amazon says stylists will pick out items and give the customer the chance to preview them.
Customers can choose up to eight items to receive and ‘try on at home.’ The customers get up to seven days to decide whether they want to buy the items; unwanted items can be returned to the company for free. Prime members are charged for whatever clothing, shoes, and/or accessory items they decide to keep.
Prime members in the United States can now access Personal Shopper through the Android and iOS Amazon apps. The company says that men’s styles will be ‘launching soon’ for US customers. A number of brands are available for the curated packages, including Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Champion, Daily Ritual, Adidas, and similar.
